Conversation with curator Sofia Dati + Apéro & studio visits

On Wednesday, 19th of July, the artists active in Globe Aroma workplace met Beursschouwburg curator Sofia Dati for a conversation on ‘how to get ready to show your work as an emerging artist’.

We discussed the importance of communication through portfolios and newsletters, how to make visible artistic practices through invitations for studio visits and well-thought presentations of their work, how to balance one’s presence in art institutions and commercial spaces to enrich an artistic CV and being acknowledged in the art panorama (of Brussels).

After the conversation, other Brussels curators and art space managers joined us for a drink and studio visits. We thought of this ‘conversation & apéro’, the first of a series in the months to come, as an occasion to show curators, art space managers, and programmers the atelier and to create a relaxed context for everyone – artists and cultural workers – to establish informal, soft connections.
