For a year now, we have been collaborating with the design team New South + Karel Bruyland. Together with the community and our partners, they developed a future plan for our infrastructure. Much-needed energy efficiency and accessibility works are required, along with adjustments to the layout of our building. *Since 2021, Globe Aroma has been supported by WA, an action-research group from the Department of Architecture at KU Leuven (led by Luce Beeckmans, in collaboration with Heleen Verheyden, Dounia Salamé, Tasneem Nagi, Jasmien De Rijck, and Viviana D’Auria).

Together with WA and the construction experts, we sought a design team to tackle the essential renovations of our site. The Paris-Brussels office New South + Karel Bruyland was selected. They were chosen, among other things, for their culturally sensitive approach and their experience with participatory design.

This last point is important to us, as we want the final design for our site to be a collective creation, with Globe Aroma’s team, our artistic community, the growing group of partner organizations, and the design team imagining and building together.
